What
is Remote Install and How Does it Work?
The majority of people
planning to use eBlaster are able to go to the
computer they wish to monitor and install eBlaster
on that computer, and therefore do not need the
optional Remote Install feature.
If you are a parent wishing
to monitor the PC your child uses, or an employer
who has decided to take control of inappropriate
Internet activity by monitoring your employees,
then you likely have the ability to go to the
PC and install the eBlaster software on that PC.
However, if your child
is away at school, or your employees are spread
out over multiple locations, then accessing the
computer or computers to be monitored may not
be possible or convenient.
In such situations, you
may want to consider purchasing the optional eBlaster
Remote Installer module.

Remote Install Requirements
Before purchasing the
eBlaster Remote Installer PLEASE make sure the
following requirements are met:
- You MUST be
the owner of the computer to be monitored, OR
you must have permission from the owner of the
computer to install the eBlaster software. If
you are not the owner of the computer or do
not have permission from the owner of the computer,
and you proceed with installing eBlaster on
that computer anyway, you have violated the
eBlaster software license agreement AND you
may be breaking state or federal law.
In addition, Internt
Protection For Kids WILL COOPERATE FULLY with
law enforcement authorities if you try to install
this software on a computer that you do not
own or do not have permission to install to.
- The eBlaster
Remote Installer program will allow you to pre-configure
eBlaster and will then save an INSTALL FILE
on your computer.
- You will then
email this INSTALL FILE to the person using
the computer you wish to monitor. For most email
programs, you will simply ATTACH the INSTALL
FILE to the email. You may wish to include a
short note. You then click the SEND button.
- The email
with the Install File attached will then be
sent to your child's or employee's or intended
recipient's email address.
- Once the child
or employee or intended recipient opens the
email, they will need to click on the attachment.
The INSTALL FILE will execute and install itself,
but will not give any indication that the installation
took place.
NOTE: Some email programs
will not accept emails with program file attachments.
If your child or employee is using such an email
program, then eBlaster will NOT be installed
and you will need PHYSICAL ACCESS to that computer
for eBlaster to work properly.
Also, if the child or employee does NOT click
on the attached file to open the INSTALL FILE,
then eBlaster will NOT be installed and you
will need physical access to the PC for eBlaster
to work properly.
If the Remote Install is unable to complete
because the INSTALL FILE is not opened by the
user on the computer you have sent it to, then
you can also copy the INSTALL FILE to a floppy
diskette or CD, take the floppy/CD to the computer,
and run the INSTALL FILE from the floppy/CD.
- If you do
not believe the INSTALL FILE will be allowed
by the intended recipient (child or employee),
or that they will not click on the attachment,
then PLEASE DO NOT purchase the Remote Install
module.
IMPORTANT: Internt
Protection For Kids will NOT grant a refund of
the eBlaster 5.0 purchase price if the optional
Remote Install is not accepted by the computer
you wish to monitor.
